Reflections on the leader I am, the leader I want to become and what that means for the people around me.
I began the Nye Bevan Programme in September 2026 while working as a GP Partner and taking on a neighbourhood Clinical Lead role in East Staffordshire. This collection follows the questions emerging from that experience: how I exercise influence, respond to challenge, share responsibility and help turn clinical purpose into better care.
The earliest essays were written before the programme began. They record the assumptions and aspirations I brought with me. Later reflections connect learning with practice, including what I need to question or do differently. They are a developing account of learning, rather than evidence that every question has been resolved.
This is an independent personal journal. It is not an official Nye Bevan Programme publication and does not represent the views of the programme or partner organisations.

These reflections are intended to invite thought and challenge. Colleagues across the Nye Bevan community are welcome to contribute their own experiences and perspectives. Over time, I hope the journal can become a shared resource and provide material for a collective publication.
